I paid $20 for the book rather than $10 or less for most of the other versions because it was supposed to have illustrationS. One reviewer remarked on the beautiful illustrationS. The book has 2 total. At the very front of the book. One is the same as the illustration on the book cover and the other is a small print on the Title page before the foreward noting that the volume is "With Illustrations by Charles Robinson."If you are looking for a version of the book you read as a young girl with many beautiful illustrations -- this is NOT it.

My children inherited my voracious reading acumen as have my granddaughters and grandsons. I had purchased a hardback copy of this book for my daughter when she was young and purchased this one for my granddaughter this Christmas. It is a beautiful tome!! When my eight-year-old granddaughter opened it, squealed, and was done hugging it, her mother got a good look and said, "Hey mom, I think this one is better than the one I got."My grandmother is the one that bought me my copy of this book in the early 1960s and this one is quite similar. This is a great book for a young reader.
