The thought experiment about "Mathistan" , a fictitious country shows how international testing is nothing but big business and pushing the agenda of market economies to countries dependent on them. There are a couple of essays that are a bit of a stretch, such as the one on the hegemony of "English" mathematics- if you are a conspiracy theorist you might like it, if not it's atleast worth a chuckle.
