By Rob Natiuk Just remember: as far as your life is concerned, a "Life Coach" is still a part-timer. The best she or he can do for you is to get you to the place you can coach yourself all the time. Will this book help you do that? It does cover the definition of a life coach, the "nuts and bolts of the industry" (not the most original phrase), getting started as a life coach, finding clients, and avoiding common mistakes. That's a tall order for a short read!Here's the author's definition: "A life coach is a person who helps a person achieve a dream or goal whatever it might be." They offer encouragement, guidance and feedback. There are many types of coaching -- happiness, connections with others, stress, emotions, art, teen life. Who goes to life coaches? Sure, some "losers," but also high-powered and successful people from many walks of life. They want to make crucial changes in their lives.HOW DO YOU GET STARTED? You have to develop skills such as listening, reasoning, organizational, communications, empathy without involvement, business sense, and a basic understanding and feel for emotional and mental issues. The author confesses that her book is just a brief look at life coaching. That's true -- but I think it offers an excellent and clear introduction and overview of the profession. If you have any desire to enter this field, this book is a good start.

But now, you can even learn just how to become one by simply following the recommendations inside this book. I would have loved to see some monetary numbers thrown around such as how much does it cost to become a life coach and approximately how much you can earn as a life coach.
