He previously taught at Emporia State University, the University of St. Thomas, the University of Minnesota, and Mankato State University. Thelen I've gained a lot from Dr. Zimmerman's teachings over the years - conferences, CD's, weekly e-mails, and books. This book in particular is a favorite of mine because it helped me become a more complete person, and it goes beyond theory to a) practical advice to implement concepts and b) motivational stories to encourage you in your journey. If I can sum up this book I would call it a good roadmap for designing a happy, productive life.

The author, true to his long list of credentials, was able to give me a whole new outlook and a whole new mindset! He has convinced me that success and fulfillment can be mine--if only I am willing to put forth the effort! I especially liked stories about the author's own life--and examples he uses (of persons both famous and ordinary) to underscore the effectiveness of pointers presented. It's an easy read, and I will be buying extra copies for my children and grandchildren.

I was not wrong! I ordered the work book at the same time. I have decided to read the book through once and then to read it again and apply the work book. I am just about to finish the book and I can't stop talking about it.I am thankful that Dr. Zimmerman makes the applications so easy to understand and the fact that (I) am the one that needs to take the first step in making the changes in my life. It is not easy being a forerunner and taking the thumps along the way, but I am so thankful that Dr. Zimmerman has done it and is willing to share the things that he had to endure so that we can pull from his experience and apply them to our lives in work and at home.A must read!!
