A perfectly delightful cruise By In the Bookcase This volume of the Elsie series is a treasure.Even more enjoyable than the immediately previous volumes, Elsie and her family explore more of the world together through Captain Raymond's yacht, the Dolphin. Taking a cruise through the Pacific, the family visits several countries through the winter months, keeping warm in the humid regions. The reason why I found this particular volume to be more enjoyable than the previous few is because the author left behind the intense historical discussions that the characters had been getting into. There are some similar discussions in "Elsie's Winter Trip" that were comprise of topics of nature, animals or a bit about the visited countries, but not as intense as the historical textbook discussions had been... which made for more engaging book.I can't believe I'm almost done reading the series!

YawnZZZZZZZZZZZZZ By A Customer Following thier honeymoons, Jucilla and Evelyn set up housekeeping with their husbands, Chester and Max ,in a new shared home, Sunnyside. The family enjoys a round of parties held in honor of the newlyweds.WHEn Max returns to the navy, the rest of the family travels with Grandma Elise during the cold months on board the Dolphin to several Caribbean islands and the shores of South America.Elsie and Ned Raymond acquire pet monkeys ,and Ned takes an unforunate tumble overboard but is saved by a quick-thinking sailor. That justs about sums up the whole book. I can read these books in 30 mn. flat because they are sooooo boring.Books 1-14 is ok, but after that it is entierly boring. They even have Cp. Raymond reading out of a history book!
