By Mark Interesting account of a young priest, son of an Anglo-Catholic priest, and his journey into ministry. Captures much of the controversey that the Oxford and Ritualist movements caused for the CofE.

Olsen By Olsen A well written book but nowadays not many people are interested in the differences between the High and the Low Church of England at the turn of the nineteenth century, not even me who was educated at a Jesuit College mentioned in the book. The main character is not particularly likable or interesting. Unless you are doing a thesis on the subject, don't bother with it.

Jay This book has some brilliant satires of various High Church personalities (Sir Hubert Miller, Fr Dolling, etc.) and places (S. Agatha’s Landport, Alton Abbey) .The novel brings to life the conflicts that arose out of Anglo-Catholic revival in Anglicanism as they confronted the movement’s second generation. They were obstructed by short-sighted, conservative bishops who obsess on church law, and ignore the enormous good that these priests are doing.
