1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. expanded my passive horizons By Dave Tucker I never thought about purchasing vending machines before, which is what compels me to learn more. This is a very basic guide and a useful tip I got is to invest in a new machine and have the machines close to the supplier so that the stock can be quickly and easily replenished. One thing I'd like to see is a batch of resources that can direct us to new places for information. But a great read since I wasn't considering this before and now it has put vending machines on my radar.

Very informative im glad I purchased this book before I started my vending business. I had ideas that I thought were good ideas and good for my vending business, I learned through this book that some of my ideas were actually bad ideas and very common pitfalls in the vending Industry. Also in my short time in dealing with Robert Thomason & Pro-Vending Consultants have been just as useful

Fractal Forecasting, by Ian Copsey

From the Author Since my 2010 book, during which I discovered the consistency of wave projections within 3-wave structures, my ability to forecast - particularly Wave (iii) and Wave (iv) - has grown considerably. The very initial forecast I made for the DOW Jones Industrial Index in "Harmonic Elliott Wave" was the very first time I had ever been able to make credible forecasts in equity markets. Before that moment I had avoided analysing these markets. From that time, while there are always challenges (particularly in the lower - intraday - charts) the application of Harmonic Elliott Wave has provided me with many direct hits including the top of the first 5-wave rally from the inception of the DOW - identified 2-years in advance.Of course, there are tricky parts to the development and this requires application of supporting evidence through complementary analytical techniques to identify elements such as timing (cycles) momentum (multi-timeframe) to provide directional information and clear support & resistance areas. The wave structure itself also offers key targets at times.

From the Back Cover REVIEWSHarmonic Elliott Wave (HEW) is the most intriguing new breed of Wave Principle I have ever encountered since I initially started using the Wave Principle over 20 years ago.  One of the largest advantages of HEW, in my opinion, is that HEW's consistent ratio structure significantly reduces the subjectivity of wave counting inherent in the conventional Wave Principle.  Also, HEW projects a single uniform structure under a forward-looking (ex-ante) discipline.  This significantly reduces the need to adjust a wave count.  Even when adjusting is made, the discipline of the ratio structure still must be adhered to.  Furthermore, the eradication of extended waves, failed fifths and leading/lagging diagonals also dispenses with the need to persistently re-label wave counts in hindsight.  With far-reaching implications for traders and investors everywhere, I recommend this book as a must-read for anyone interested in the Wave Principle. Akira Homma, CFA, CIIA, CMA, CFTe, CMT, FRMVice President (Asia-Pacific), International Federation of Technical Analysts (IFTA)Director, Chief International Officer, Nippon Technical Analysts Association of Japan (NTAA)    Ian Copsey's third technical analysis book achieves what many others have attempted, yet failed to provide; a logical and methodical approach to wave counting. Copsey combines the best elements of his first two books to provide a complete analytical framework which traders and analysts of all levels would benefit from reading. The combination of congruent techniques, indicators, advantages and their flaws are worthy of a book in itself. Knowing how to objectively invalidate your analysis is another gem in this book, which is a topic which tends to get glossed over in others. Presenting such detailed analysis and forecasting abilities is no easy task, yet Copsey manages to do just that with real-world examples and a well-thought out methodology, in a format which is easy to digest. Copsey is an "analysts' analyst" who has always strived for quality and accuracy, and the techniques and methodology he openly shares in this book are a direct reflection of his caliber. Here is the man who changed the way I look at a price chart forever and I am sure he will do the same for you.   Matt Simpson Senior Market Analyst
ThinkForex

About the Author Ian Copsey is a veteran technical analyst having begun his career in markets 33 years ago in Barclays Bank trading rooms in London and Hong Kong - where he began his career as a technical analyst. He is author of Integrated Technical Analysis (1999) and Harmonic Elliott Wave (2011) and Fractal Forecasting (2015.) In 1993 he moved to Tokyo to work with Dow Jones Telerate for 7 years. He is an experienced speaker at technical analysis workshops and seminars. Later Ian had experience in a start up company in Singapore before becoming an independent analyst, providing his daily Forex analysis, and later equity and metals reports. His work with Harmonic Elliott Wave has been applauded with some of the most accurate forecasts in the industry, in both Forex and equity markets. He forecast the May 2015 high in the Dow Jones Industrial Index two years in advance that followed his forecast in July 2010 when he suggested that the Dow Jones Index would complete its first 5-wave rally from inception.

2013 AMAZON BREAKTHROUGH NOVEL AWARD SEMI-FINALIST* 2013 AUSTENESQUE REVIEWS FAVORITE MODERN ADAPTATION* "5 out of 5 stars: Solidified the thoughts I had after reading Pulse and Prejudice: Saucier is a master storyteller. Her ability to keep the reader engaged throughout both works is fantastic." -Austenprose A Modern Twist on Pride and Prejudice All My Tomorrows is losing the ratings war. For headwriter Alice McGillicutty, the past year has had enough drama. Her mother passed away, her last relationship ended in disaster, and now poor ratings are catapulting her long-running soap opera toward cancellation. For comfort and creative inspiration, she begins reading The Edge of Darkness, an old melodramatic paperback she found among her mother's belongings. When scandal rips Hollywood bad boy Peter Walsingham off the tabloids and into her studio, Alice doubts the small screen is big enough for his ego - or his entourage. In their battle of pride and prejudice, will Peter's vanity and arrogance compel Alice to write him out of her script, or can she find a role for him in All My Tomorrows? This contemporary romance not only follows Alice and Peter as they wrestle with misunderstandings, pride, and prejudices, but also the trials and travails of Alexandra, the heroine of the absurdist novel The Edge of Darkness. Full chapters of the book-within-the-book are included as Alice reads and allows that story to influence her own. Though the plot of the primary novel is reminiscent of Pride and Prejudice, Peter and Alice are no Darcy and Elizabeth but fully-formed characters from the twenty-first century. *NOTE: The Proud and the Prejudiced is an expanded an enhanced version of the previously-titled All My Tomorrows with 9900 more words than the original, 3 more chapters, and 4 more scenes of our hero and heroine battling their pride and prejudices as well as their intense attraction to one another.

Review "Engagingly written & entertaining: Laugh-out-loud funny and filled with endearing characters, the novel's greatest strength is its masterful dialogue and the banter between the players. Skillfully rendered love scenes add heat to the romances, which the author keeps interesting through a roller coaster of plot twists." -Publishers Weekly"A thoroughly entertaining read - Peter and Alice have a fun and feisty relationship. Their confrontations are full of snappy dialogue and a tension that is more longing than overtly sexual. But when the sparks do fly, these two light up the room!" -InD'Tale Magazine

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Plots and Twists and Turns, Oh my! By Essel C. I received this book free from Net Galley in exchange for an honest review. I love any adaption of a Jane Austen book, "Pride and Prejudice" being a favorite. This ebook version of Collette Saucier's book "All My Tomorrows," is an expanded edition of her original story. In any case, I actually enjoyed this book. Alice McGillicutty is the head writer for the daytime drama (aka soap opera) "All My Tomorrows," and the show is losing ratings fast. Enter Peter Walsingham, the "savior" who is going to turn the tide for the show. Right away the animosity is apparent between these two, and one cannot help but get swept into their world. The reader is able to pick up pretty quickly which characters are supposed to be their Austen counterparts. So while Alice is living her modern twist on "Pride and Prejudice," she is reading a "romance" entitled "The Edge of Darkness" purely for educational purposes, so that she can get inspiration for writing for the show. Alice and the reader are both reading this romance and Alice seems to be onto something using this book as fodder for her soap, because the novel itself reads like a soap opera! Spoiler Alert: When Alice gets to the end, and the main character in the novel, Alexandra, has reached her breaking point, and Alice turns the page expecting more, but there's nothing else, just a blank page, Alice is livid! She throws the book across the room and screams "Where's my happy ending?" If "The Edge of Darkness" were an actual book on my shelf, I would have done the exact same thing! As Alice states: "This book is definitely NOT a romance." OMG I laughed so hard! Long story short, after many setbacks and misunderstandings, Alice and Peter do get their happy ending, just like Elizabeth and Darcy, so no worries. As for poor Alexandra, if this were an actual soap, she would have woke up the next day and realized it was just a dream, ha ha!

Retelling Didn't Disappoint By Angel Hatfield **I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest reviewThis is another retelling of the classic Pride and Prejudice. Since I'm a huge fan of the original, I'm always up for reading authors' fresh retellings so I can compare them.In this version, Alice McGillicutty is the heroine. She's the head writer for a daytime soap opera. When their ratings take a nose dive and they are in fear of being cancelled, the show gets saved by a big-time actor Peter Walsingham, who is being forced to finish out his studio contract on the show. Right from the beginning, the two clash on every point, especially with the interference of others.I really liked this retelling. I thought the author did a great job of putting the main characters in this story. She did well with including the main secondary characters and not trying to overcrowd this new plot by sticking in every single person. I LOVED the names she used for some of the characters. The only thing I didn't care and am still not 100% was the secondary story that Alice was reading. It didn't seem to have much point and wasn't very good. If I were Alice, I never would've bothered past the second chapter, although I loved her reaction to the ending.I'm glad the author didn't disappoint.

3 of 4 people found the following review helpful. A Unique Twist By S. Judice Saucier creates a unique twist with her newest novel using a book-within-the-book to engage the reader. Very Shakespearean! It was interesting to see how the book Alice was reading influenced her actions in her own life. Speaking of Shakespearean, the book feels very much like a drama--witty dialogue and quick action.I loved this modern adaptation of Austen's PRIDE AND PREJUDICE. The way Saucier melded the Victorian story into the modern setting was genius. The characters paralleled Austen's originals so well, however, still maintained their own identity in today's world. Excellent job there. I also enjoyed a certain satire with the setting of the soap opera set, including the drama and melodrama that surrounds romantic relationships. Who hasn't felt like they were in a soap opera at one time or another when falling in love?I usually prefer a bit more imagery/description. On the other hand, there are no SLOW moments which tends to happen when authors delve into lengthy, flowery prose. None of that here. As a matter of fact, the flow of writing was very Austenesque in style. I read the book quickly and closed it with a smile on my face. If you're heading to the beach or to the pool, this is the perfect book to bring with you. Happy reading!

Great historical Christian fiction By Maggie Jarpey This book is like a time machine taking you back into pre-Civil War through post-Civil War days in the U.S. Fascinating reading because the author lived in those times. Her characters speak the kinds of things that were spoken then--the Southerners and the Northerners, and the people (mainly Christians) who were from the South but sympathised with the North because they knew how immoral slavery was. The slaves speak in this book, too--not in one voice, but as individuals. In addition to that, the plot has some satisfying twists, and the romance is likewise very satisfying. Lots of Christian stuff, lots of scripture quoting, so if you don't like that, stay away or prepare yourself to push through it. I liked it--I kept having my thoughts influenced to remember God's presence as I was reading, and that was a great bonus.Oh, and the description of West Point, of the capitol, and of Americans staying abroad during the conflict, was interesting, as well as descriptions of the clothing of men and women and soldiers--all written from the perspective of a person living at that time. Most notable to me was the ferocity of many Southerners toward Northerners, the contempt with which they viewed the Union army, the certainty with which they viewed their victory, based on their confidence in their own superiority of courage and skill in fighting. Also, the blindness that many Southerners of otherwise splendid character had toward the true nature of slavery--because they had grown up accepting it and everyone around them accepted it. That's a warning to us. Things in our society that are dreadful tend to lose their dreadfulness if we have grown up with them and are surrounded by people who accept them (for example, how can we accept the fact that young men who go to prison routinely get raped? We even make jokes about it).

Continuation of "Daisy" By deborah I didn't like this as much as the prequel, "Daisy", where Daisy finds herself engaged to a Northern soldier on the brink of America's Civil War. "Daisy" ends abruptly with the engagement, and "Daisy in the Field" takes up with Daisy's life as she rejoins her parents and brother in Europe while her fiancee goes to fight. Daisy's family, who own Southern plantations and enjoy the wealth from slave labor, are not Christian converts (as Daisy is), and support the Confederate States. Daisy must struggle to manage her feelings for her distant, endangered fiancee, her family's opposition to her "fanatic" beliefs, and her unwillingness to directly confront her controlling family with her opposition to slavery. The writing is very authentic, and it isn't preachy. But this story also moves very slowly. Many of Daisy's struggles are purely internal - how to honor her parents while disagreeing with them, how to avoid conflict that may prejudice them even more against the engagement she is unhappily keeping secret, how to answer virulent hatred against the Yankees, and how to conceal her engagement while remaining disentangled in the face of her mother's predatory matchmaking plans. On a side trip to the Holy Land with her father, which takes up much of the book, her father is converted. At the end of the book, she is working in a Civil War hospital, where she must face the worst that could happen to her fiancee.Like "Daisy", this book also ended suddenly, though there are no other books to follow for this character. God is less a part of this book than the other - the Civil War, which the author experienced in her lifetime, tends to cause immediate life-and-death concerns to overwhelm our consciousness of God, and this is both reflected and acknowledged in the story.

Making Sense of Change Management is the best-selling classic text, providing a thorough overview of the subject of change for both students and professionals.

Along with explaining the theory and practice of change management and comprehensively covering the models, tools, and techniques of successful change management, this completely revised and updated fourth edition includes more international examples and case studies throughout the book.  The chapter on cultural change has been re-written to reflect the emerging new thinking and practice in this area, offering ways to help managers implement cultural change processes within their organization.  It also explores cultural sensitivity and what to do when cultures collide.

Additionally, the chapter on IT based process change has now been replaced with one on the inter-relationship with project management (PM) and change management. It defines “project success,” explains how PM approaches are increasingly being used to manage transformational change, and covers complexity models, agile approaches, and stakeholder management.

With free online resources for professors/instructors, this is an ideal textbook for MBA or graduate students focusing on leading or managing change.

While this text promises to be "A complete guide to the models, tools, and techniques of organizational change" it lacks practical steps for implementing any of the several models it discusses, which was a big disappointment. It's best use would be as a good reference for a college level survey of the various styles and methods of the many change management models out there. If you want to hold forth on the relative merits of various change management models at your next social gathering, this is your text. If you're looking for nuts and bolts on how to actually implement and sustain a cultural change, look elsewhere.

Interesting By Autamme_dot_com Billed as a complete guide to the models, tools and techniques of organizational change, this book has been revised and refreshed to provide a deep look at the theory and practice of change management. This is far from a dry, out-of-touch academic textbook on the subject, even though the topic can be fairly heavy-going by nature, and the author utilises many case studies to hopefully bring the subject to life for the reader by practical examples. Of course, latest research and the current best practice thinking has been incorporated into the book, making it a worthy upgrade if you have an earlier edition and an attractive, compelling buy if you don’t.Can there be too much information fighting to get out? At times it feels as if one has to read the text several times to get the most out of it, even though the book does not feel as it is lacking and certainly it is not a bad book. It might just benefit from a little more structure, a little more accessibility and a little bit of workflow management – whilst absolutely not dumbing it down. It is just so deep, at times veering towards the overly academic and specialist. Certainly this reviewer found a lot of thought-provoking material, even from the most unexpected quarter. The book is rounded off by a detailed series of references to permit additional deeper reading and research as required and a customary high-quality, extensive Kogan Page index!Make no mistake. When you find a great, useful book it can appear perverse yet you are even more demanding and less forgiving of any little foibles that may exist. This is one such book.

"[...]life—the famous house at Down, in Kent. Writing to his friend Mr. Fox, on March 28th, 1843, he says, "I am very slowly progressing with a volume, or rather pamphlet, on the volcanic islands which we visited: I manage only a couple of hours per day, and that not very regularly. It is uphill work writing books, which cost money in publishing, and which are not read even by geologists." The work occupied Darwin during the whole of the year 1843, and was issued in the spring of the following year, the actual time engaged in preparing it being recorded in his diary as "from the summer of 1842 to January 1844;" but the author does not appear to have been by any means satisfied with the result when the book was finished. He wrote to Lyell, "You have pleased me much by saying that you intend looking through my 'Volcanic Islands;' it cost me eighteen months!!! and I have heard of very few who have read it. Now I shall feel, whatever little (and little it is) there is confirmatory of old work, or new, will work its effect and not be lost." To Sir Joseph Hooker he wrote, "I have just finished a little volume on the volcanic islands which we visited. I do not know how far you care for dry simple geology, but I hope you will let me send you a copy." Every geologist knows how full of interest and suggestiveness is this book of[...]".

Volcanic Islands, by Charles Darwin

About the Author Charles Darwin was an English naturalist and author best-known for his revolutionary theories on the origin of species, human evolution, and natural selection. A life-long interest in the natural world led Darwin to neglect his medical studies and instead embark on a five-year scientific voyage on the HMS Beagle, where he established his reputation as a geologist and gathered much of the evidence that fuelled his later theories.A prolific writer, Darwin s most famous published works include The Voyage of the Beagle, On the Origin of Species, The Descent of Man, and Selection in Relation to Sex, and The Expression of Emotions in Man and Animals. Darwin died in 1882, and in recognition of his contributions to science, is buried in Westminster Abbey along with John Herschel and Isaac Newton.

This book does not describe the activity of volcanoes, just the physical conditions of the soil, etc. I have read several books by Charles Darwin. Though I am interested in the subjects, I do not consider Darwin a riveting writer.
