1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Out of Date By Alan Dale Daniel I like the writing as it isn't esoteric; however, the data is way out of date. We have learned so much about the ancient world over the past 10 years, much less 140 (the book was published in 1869), that the book is kind of a waste. Its main use today is learning how the people in the 19th century thought about the ancient world.
