By Peter Rogers MD Dr. Castillo is a neuroradiologist and was editor of AJNR (American Journal of Neuroradiology). For the past 30 years, he spends his day looking at brain MRI's and reading journal articles about the brain.Given all the journal articles cited after each chapter, you can bet that Mauricio neglects his family.He wrote this book with simple vocabulary so it can be understood by persons with limited English language skills, but the book has beautiful concepts. Kind of like Baywatch for the brain.In the chapter on sleep he explains the glymphatic = Glial-Lymphatic system. Good to know.This book provides advanced information about the brain in an easily accessible format with chapters only 3-4 pages long.I am a neuroradiologist who reads neurosience like the newspaper and this book is the best bridge between the widely available intro books and complicated journal articles.Instead of reading 10 journal articles to understand the glymphatic system, Mauricio summarizes it better in 3 paragraphs.
